A bit about me:
Founder of Bee Bilingual Designs🐝
I am Maria Alejandra Lopez, M.Ed., and belong to multiple countries at once. Really. My hybrid homes inspired me to create this business to offer the best of my multicultural and bilingual experience to the world!
I have over 7 years of experience in bilingual education and English as a Second Language in public schools and NGOs in New Jersey, New York City, and Colombia. At Rutgers University, where I completed my undergraduate studies in History, Anthropology, and a minor in Sociology, I began delving into the education world through various mentoring and teaching internships. In 2018, I joined the NYC Teaching Fellows where I began my Masters in Education at CUNY (City University of New York) alongside teaching bilingual social studies in The Bronx, New York.
In 2023, I became a Fulbright grantee teaching English to university students in Bogotá, Colombia.

In 2023, I was awarded the ETA (English Teaching Assistant) grant to teach English at a local university in Bogotá, Colombia for ten months.
NYC Department of Education-Bilingual Social Studies Educator
High School of World Cultures- Bronx, NY
In 2018, I began my career as a Bilingual Social Studies educator at an international high school in the Bronx, NY called High School of World Cultures. I serviced newly arrived immigrants to the USA by providing bilingual material and a culturally responsive curriculum.
Financial Document Translator- Goldman Sachs
New York, New York
In 2017, I worked in databases to analyze, interpret, extract, and translate information from over 90 various types of Qualified Financial Contracts and their amendments to comply with the FDIC’s Record Keeping/Resolution Planning regulations. Translated these contracts from Spanish to English, and vice versa.
